Please let us know if you are seeking a referral to determine whether you’re a good candidate for this wellness and weight loss treatment. Semaglutide is not suitable for people with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. It is only approved for people ages 18 years and older.

How is semaglutide administered?

Semaglutide is administered once weekly by subcutaneous (under the skin) injection. A Hayat Pharmacy pharmacist will administer the initial 4 doses (once per week for the first month) via a walk-in appointment at our 807 W. Layton Ave. location, which is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m.-4 pm. After the first month, doses can be administered by our pharmacist or training and support can be provided for self-injection at home.

Are there any side effects of semaglutide?

As with any medication, semaglutide may cause side effects. Common reactions include gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and constipation. Some individuals may experience more severe side effects, such as pancreatic inflammation, changes in vision or low blood sugar when used with other diabetes medications.

How does semaglutide work?

Semaglutide works by reducing hunger, slowing gastric emptying and promoting a feeling of fullness after meals, which can lead to a decrease in overall caloric intake. It functions as a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, a class of drugs that mimic the natural hormone incretin to stimulate insulin release.

What is the price of semaglutide at Hayat Pharmacy?

Our pricing is $74.75 for each weekly dose for .25 mg-1.5 mg. For higher doses, the price is $125 for each weekly dose. Payment is due at the time of service.
